Romanian Leu Down Vs Euro, Exch Rate At 4.0767

Romania’s leu edged lower against the euro in mid trade Wednesday and the central bank’s reference weakened slightly to 4.0767 units, from 4.0735 units a day earlier.

Against the US dollar, the leu's indicative won nearly 0.3% at 2.7788 units, a fresh high since December 2008.

The leu opened up at 4.07/4.072 per euro, from 4.073/4.075 per euro at Tuesday's closing.

It later lost ground and at around GMT1000 traded at 4.076/4.0775 to the euro.

On the money market, overnight rates fell to 5.2%-5.7% a year, from 5.6%-6.1% a year Tuesday.
