Romanian Leu Up Vs Euro, Exch Rate At 4.1035

Romania’s leu consolidated its advance against the euro in mid trade Wednesday and the central bank’s reference gained 0.27% at 4.1035 units, from 4.1147 units a day earlier.

Against the US dollar, the leu's indicative won over 1% on the day at 2.8681 units, the strongest rate since January 2010.

The leu opened higher at 4.105/4.107 per euro, from 4.115/4.116 per euro at Tuesday's closing and further gained ground, amid low volumes.

At around GMT1000, the leu traded at 4.1025/4.1035 per euro.

On the money market, overnight rates were flat at 3.1%-3.6% a year.
