Romanian Lower Chamber Rejects Simple Motion On Agriculture

Romania’s Chamber of Deputies on Wednesday rejected 132 to 112 votes and seven abstentions the simple motion submitted by opposition social democrat and conservative deputies against Agriculture Minister Mihail Dumitru.

Social democrat and conservative lawmakers submitted the motion on agriculture to the Chamber of Deputies last week, in which they accused the Government of pushing the country's farmers into bankruptcy.

They called for the resignation of the agriculture minister, citing his inability to deal with the many problems of Romania's farmers.
