According to the chief of the Busteni Mountain Rescue Service, Gheorghe Haiduc, in the past several days the winds have been strong and sweeping snow at high altitudes, which caused the formation of snow caps on the ridges, which brings the risk of avalanches.

Mountain rescuers reminded tourists that all mountain paths are closed and advised against venturing in valleys and on the paths.
