Romanian Overtime Work To Be Compensated With Free Time, Not Pay

Overtime work hours will be compensated this year with free hours and they will not be paid, as a measure for the reduction of budget spending, said Romanian prime minister Emil Boc at the end of the government meeting where the draft budget for 2009 was approved.

Boc added the 20% reduction in staff spending is aimed at diminishing costs and not necessarily laying off employees.
