Romanian Parliament To Get Draft Law Banning Public Sector Pension-Wage Combo In 2 Weeks

The Romanian government will submit in Parliament in two weeks a draft law banning public sector employees retired under special laws from getting both salaries and pensions, after the act is discussed with social partner, Prime Minister Emil Boc said late Saturday.

He reminded that, by this normative act, the government isn’t targeting actors, teachers or retired social workers but aims to put a halt on waste of taxpayer money.

The prime minister assured the draft law will be discussed with social partners and the Parliament will have the final say.
