Romanian Pres Calls People To Vote

Romanian president Traian Basescu said forecasts of low turnouts in the elections tell him he should call on Romanians asking them to come to the voting booths on June 1.

He said his request is that Romanians come to vote Sunday, even though he knows that this is a day of relaxation after a week of hard work. Still he asked citizens to spare 15-20 minutes to elect their local leaders.
