Romanian President Traian Basescu invited the representatives of parliament parties to consultations on the recent price hikes of food products and fuels, political sources said Tuesday.

They said the invitation is for July 1 at 12 am, local time.

The discussions will focus on the “conclusions of the latest meeting of the European Councils concerning price increases for food and fuels” and the parties are invited to express their opinion on possible solutions to mitigate “the impact of the price hikes on underprivileged social categories”, the mentioned sources said.
