Romanian President Urges Parliament To Adopt Wage, Pension, Budget Laws Urgently

Romanian President Traian Basescu urged Parliament in a letter Monday to urgently adopt the IMF-required laws on wages, pensions, the 2011 state budget and the law on consumer loans.

According to sources in the standing office of the Chamber of Deputies, the head of state motivated the urgent need to adopt these laws saying their adoption is an essential condition for the country to successfully complete its financing agreement with the International Monetary Fund, European Union and World Bank.
