Romanian President Urges Reexamination Of Justice Staff Pay Law

Romanian President Traian Basescu asked lawmakers to reexamine a law approving the payment of salaries to the personnel in the legal system, arguing that, suspending the payment of the respective sums, in times of crisis, for a limited period, “sounds like a fair and wise thing to do.”

According to a press release of the presidential administration, the head of state submitted to the Senate chairman a request to reexamine the law approving Government Emergency Ordinance no. 225/2008 on the payment of sums granted as salaries to personnel in the justice system.
