Romanian Senate’s Budget Committee Adopts Bill Cutting Income Tax

The Romanian Senate’s budget committee Tuesday adopted a bill whereby the tax on income will be reduced to 10% from 16%, the budget committee said in a press release.

According to the press release, the committee adopted a favorable report on a bill proposed by a group of democrat liberal senators, which amends Law 571/2003 on the Fiscal Code and sets the tax on income at 10%.

The draft law was submitted in the Senate in June.

The Romanian Government said in an address to the Senate that it does not uphold this proposition.
