Romanian senators Tuesday gave anticorruption prosecutors the go-ahead to investigate former economy minister Codrut Seres and acting labor minister Paul Pacuraru on corruption allegations.

Senators voted in favor of prosecution in two cases concerning Seres. One request was approved 83 to 36 votes and one vote was annulled, while the other was approved 79 to 40 votes and one vote was annulled.
Senators approved prosecutors’ request to investigate Pacuraru 75 to 44 votes, and one vote annulled.
Pacuraru himself voted in favor of prosecution, while Seres abstained.
Votes were cast by 120 senators out of a total 135.
