The Romanian opposition social democrats’ simple motion on health was rejected in the Senate on Monday with 53 to 61 votes and three abstentions.

Social democrats demanded that the healthcare sector be allotted at least 6% of the gross domestic product in the following years.
They also called on authorities to allot money at the next budget revision to support national health programs and find solutions to unfreeze jobs in the healthcare system.
Debates in the Senate were also attended by Health Minister Cseke Attila.
