Romanian Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

A Romanian soldier of the 300 Infantry Battalion, deployed in Afghanistan, died Friday morning in an attack with light firearms, the Romanian Defense Ministry said.

Three other Romanian troops were injured in the incident. The Defense Ministry said the troops were patrolling the highway connecting Qalat to Kabul and were attacked by insurgents 50 kilometers of Qalat.

Claudiu Marius Covrig was killed in the incident.

The injured troops received medical attention and continued their mission to secure the area.
