Romanian soprano Angela Gheorghiu has won her second female artist of the year at the 11th edition of the Classical Brit Awards, that took place Thursday at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Gheorghiu, 45, is a superstar of the international opera scene and one of the best selling classical artists and this is her second Classical Brit Award.

Soprano Kiri Te Kanawa was honored with the lifetime achievement award at the Classical Brit Awards ceremony.

The ceremony will be broadcast on ITV1 on May 18.
