The representatives of Romanian student organizations on Thursday started negotiations with the Education Minister Cristian Adomnitei for bigger scholarships and more dorms, threatening with protests unless their demands are met.

The students ask that scholarships match the minimum wage, namely 540 lei (EUR1=RON3.7348) by yearend and RON600 as of January next year.
 
In addition, they require upgrade of existing dorms and construction of new ones, “at least 30 new dorms”, the National Alliance of Romanian Student Organizations, or ANOSR, said Thursday.
