Romgaz Seeks International Expansion via SOCAR Partnership

Azeri oil company SOCAR is interested in partnering with Romanian Romgaz to explore and exploit offshore Black Sea natural gas, besides involvement in the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the TransAdriatic Pipeline (TAP), Romgaz said in a pres release Monday.

Romgaz general manager Adrian Volintiru said after a meeting with SOCAR officials a partnership with the Azeri company would open the way for Romgaz' expansion to international markets.

SOCAR, which is present on the Romanian market through a gas station network, is interested in exploring and exploiting offshore gas fields in the Black Sea alongside Romgaz.
