Self-Employed Romanians May Hire Up To Nine Employees - Senate

Romania's Senate on Wednesday adopted a law allowing self-employed people to hire up to nine employees, on individual work contracts.

The law amends a government emergency ordinance concerning self-employed people and family enterprises. The ordinance, as drawn up by the Government, allowed self-employed people to hire their own staff, but did not limit the number of employees.

The law was adopted with 57 votes for, 35 against and one abstention. It will now be debated by the Chamber of Deputies.
