A London court on Sunday sentenced two Romania nationals to various terms in jail for stealing several hundred thousand pounds using illegal devices to record credit card details at railway ticket machines.

The operation represented "huge potential for loss" to unsuspecting travelers, Judge Andrew Goymer said.
 
The Court sentenced Ion Tanase (28) to one year in prison, while Ioan Filip (36) was given a six-month sentence.
 
Goymer said he could not recommend deportation as Romania was now in the EU and their sentences were under two years.
