A young woman was killed Saturday morning in Romanian capital city Bucharest, when she was hit on a pedestrian crossing by a car belonging to the Austrian Embassy to Bucharest, police spokesman Christian Ciocan said.

The young woman, 23, was hit by a Skoda Octavia and was thrown 20 meters away in the impact. She died.
"The driver will be checked out with the help of the Foreign Ministry,” Ciocan said.
The driver who caused the accident is an employee of the Austrian Embassy to Bucharest and he is being heard by authorities.
