One Dead, Two Severely Injured In Car Crash In Capital City Bucharest

Police officers said the driver of a Dacia 1310 coming from Sudului market and heading for Popesti-Leordeni locality, in llfov County, near Bucharest, suddenly turned left toward a gas station, without checking for other cars engaged in traffic, and was hit by a motor coach running on the opposite lane.

Following the violent collision, the car was smashed into a tree, while the motor coach ended up in the gas station area and smashed into three cars. Although none of the cars hit the gas pumps, firefighters rushed to the scene shortly to prevent a potential blast.

The fifty-year old woman in the Dacia 1310 car died, while the driver and the other passenger were severely injured.

The two injured were rushed to the Floreasca emergency hospital in Bucharest by helicopter and ambulance, respectively.
