Romanian Gymnastics Team Goes On To Olympic Finals

The Romanian men’s gymnastics team qualified, Saturday, in the finals of the gymnastics Olympics, after ranking eighth in the preliminaries.

Romania managed to rank eighth with a total score of 359,350 points. The other nations qualified in the finals are China, Japan, Russia, South Korea, Germany, USA and France. The team finals will take place on August 12.

The sole Romanian athlete in the individual contest will be Flavius Koczi, who ranked 16th.

Romania will have representatives in three finals: floor exercise, Marian Dragulescu, ranked second with 15,925, vaulting, also Marian Dragulescu, qualified first with 16,762 and Flavius Koczi, qualified fifth with 16,587.

In addition, Robert Stanculescu will perform in the still rings finals, after ranking eighth with 15,750.
