Tabara said authorities will try to keep the EUR10 subsidy level unchanged in 2012 and 2013.

The minister said he will soon meet with key mutton market representatives. He highlighted Romania’s sheep exports account for about 40% of the country’s total exports.

Tabara also stressed Romania might soon start pork and chicken exports, and added authorities make efforts to uphold the two sectors.

Tabara met with farmers and cattle breeder representatives and the meeting took place in Bistrita, northern Romania.
