Romanian Budget, Finance Committees Meeting Suspended Over Lack Of Quorum

The Romanian Parliament’s budget and finance committees Saturday suspended their meeting over lack of quorum and debates on the draft 2011 state budget might be resumed later in the afternoon.

Opposition lawmakers were displeased with debates on the Interior Ministry’s budget. Opposition liberal deputy Eugen Nicolaescu said liberals will leave the meeting.

The budget and finance committees decided to suspend works as only 24 lawmakers remained in the meeting room.
