Mountain rescue services in central Romania town of Busteni on Saturday warned tourists not to climb the Bucegi mountains as avalanches are likely to occur.

Busteni mountain rescue service chief Gheorghe Haiduc said the layer of snow in the Bucegi mountains is about 80 cm thick. He added wind blows at high speed, which causes low visibility.

Mountain rescuers warned tourist that, due to the bad weather conditions, rescue teams might find it impossible to reach people caught under the snow.
