Heat Wave Code Yellow Extended In Romania Until Sunday Afternoon

Romanian meteorologists extended the code yellow for heat until Sunday afternoon, in counties Giurgiu, Calarasi, Ialomita, Constanta, Tulcea, Braila, Galati, Buzau, Ilfov and Bucharest, where temperatures will reach 37 degrees Celsius.

According to the updated weather forecast, Saturday code yellow will remain active in counties Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Calarasi, Ialomita, Constanta, Tulcea, Braila, Galati, Buzau, Vrancea, Vaslui and Ilfov, as well as Bucharest.

In addition, on Saturday, in Banat, Crisana, Maramures and Transilvania atmospheric instability will be heightened, and rain is to be expected, accompanied by lightning, strong winds and, possibly, hale storms.

Sunday afternoon the weather will be scorching in most of Muntenia, the south and east of Moldavia, western Dobrogea, where the thermal comfort index, which includes temperature and humidity, will go beyond the critical marker of 80 units.
