The president of the National Authority for Consumer Protection, Dan Vlaicu, decided that the camps subordinated to the National Youth Authority would be inspected in June, as well as the private ones, organized by various foundations or schools.
ANPC inspectors checked 89 camps, noting deficiencies in 35 of them. In addition, over 3,200 kilograms of food products were inspected and 58 kilograms were seized as they were unfit for consumption. At the same time, another 210 kilograms were temporarily halted from commercialization, until the deficiencies noticed are mended.
After inspections, ANPC noted that 22% of lodging spaces presented precarious outfitting (used up furniture, carpets and bedspreads). In another 8% of camps, the buildings had degraded and molded walls.
