David also said 1,000 vehicles and 20 helicopters would be purchased over the next six years to improve working conditions.
The minister recognized and honored the sacrifices firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible and pointed out that solidarity is the key word in emergency situations.
David also thanked the employees of the emergency inspectorates countrywide for their efforts in helping all those affected by floods this summer.
In turn, Aurel Udor, head of the Bucharest’s Firefighters Brigade, said 500 million euros would be invested, adding firefighters need new vehicles and equipment, as well as several sports bases where they can train and keep in good shape.
