Romania’s liberal labor minister Paul Pacuraru welcomed Sunday President Basescu’s insults toward a Cabinet member saying the incident definitely puts to rest all speculation on the rebuilding of the former political alliance between democrats and liberals.

Basescu qualified Saturday the attitude of a minister of the Government led by Prime Minister Calin Tariceanu as “idiotic” following that minister’s actions during the floods that affected the northeastern part of the country.
