Household appliance maker Arctic on Friday said it is expanding its activity in Romania with a new investment which will create some 500 new jobs.

Arctic general manager Nihat Bayiz said the project will create 4800 jobs in Dambovita County, until 2024, with plans for further development.

The total value of the investment for the development of the project announced in Dambovita reaches RON471 million.

Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu on Friday visited the Arctic factory in Gaesti and talked about the new project.

Arctic has been operating in Romania for over 45 years and is one of the largest companies on the local market, with more than 3,000 employees and a turnover of RON1.6 billion in 2015. Currently, 82% of Arctic’s total production is exported to over 80 countries.
