The targets set for end-September were largely attained, said Jeffrey Franks, head of the review mission. He said, however, Romania hasn't fulfilled the state arrears conditions, most notably in the health system.
"After the conditions are be fulfilled, we could request the [IMF] Board's approval [for releasing the next tranche] by mid-January, according to our expectations," said Franks, speaking in Romanian at a news conference in Bucharest, at the end of the sixth review of the IMF loan.
The conditions that Romania has to fulfill prior to getting new IMF money include approval of the 2011 budget and clearance of the pension reform.
