The Romanian boxer said the time has come for him to fight a match in Romania. He added that the Canadian club he is affiliated with, Interbox, have agreed to the idea. According to the boxer, the venue will either be Sala Polivalenta, Romania's biggest sports hall, or a stadium, which would make it the first open-air match of his career.

The Romanian boxer added that he is the best boxer in the Super Middleweight category and fears no opponent.

The head of the Romanian Boxing Federation, Rudel Obreja, said that Bute's next game will most likely take place in Romania. The date of the match has not been set yet, but Obreja's choice would be July 24. Romanian authorities still need to meet some of the Federation's expectations about the match, he added. Bute's opponent for the match has not been selected yet. Organizing Bute's match in Romania will cost an estimated EUR3-4 million, depending on the venue and opponent.

Bute defended his title of world Super Middleweight IBF champion for the fifth time, in a match against Columbian Edison "Pantera" Miranda, on April 18, in Montreal.
