Romanian CFR Cluj Debuts With Victory In Champions League

Romania’s Champions League first timer CFR Cluj beat Italy’s AS Roma 2-1 in Rome Tuesday evening in the first match of the League’s Group A.

AS Roma’s Christian Panucci opened score in minute 17, and CFR tied with Juan Culio’s goal in minute 27, and the same Culio led the Romanian team to victory with a second goal in minute 49.

CFR will next play against Chelsea London on October 1.

Romania’s other Champion League player, Steaua Bucharest kicks off in Group F against Germany’s Bayern Munchen Wednesday evening, in Bucharest.
