Romanian President Wants Tadic To Leave Romania-Serbia Match Upset

The two heads of state had a joint press conference Friday after a private meeting they had at the president’s office at Cotroceni Palace and were asked how they think the game would end.

"I’ve never wanted to upset my friend Boris Tadic, but I wish he leaves the stadium upset and myself in high spirits,” Basescu said adding he hopes Romania beats Serbia by one goal.

Tadic said he never tries to guess match scores, but always tells players to “give their best shot".

"If it wins, Serbia goes to the World Cup which means a lot. I’m worried that the match will take place on a stadium where Romania never lost a match. But traditions are made to be broken sometimes,” the Serbian head of state said.

The Romanian and Serbian president, who is on official visit to Romania, will be present at the football match between Romania and Serbia in Constanta, part of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
