Social Democrat Party Leader: Government Reshuffle To Be Decided Next Week

The leader of Romania’s Social Democrat Party, Liviu Dragnea, announced on Monday that a party national executive committee on the expected Government reshuffle will take place next week, with the exact date to be decided after the PM Viorica Dancila’s return from a foreign trip.

Dragnea added that the party will “discuss every minister very openly”.

He also said that only social democrat ministers will be assessed during the meeting, as coalition partners ALDE announced that they will not change any of their cabinet members.

Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila announced last Tuesday that she finished the announced assessment of her cabinet's activity, but declined to specify which ministers will be replaced in the upcoming Government reshuffle.

The prime minister also said that, in her opinion, the meeting should be scheduled within the following week.

The government reshuffle has been touted by the ruling Social Democrat Party throughout the last couple of months, with party leader Liviu Dragnea stating several times that he is displeased with the activity of some of the ministers.
