The Petrotel Refinery can continue to operate. The unit has been exempted from sanctions until mid-December, as announced by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department. The clarification should calm the fuel market.

Romanian President Nicușor Dan provided clarifications on Wednesday regarding a possible takeover of Lukoil in Romania. Asked if there was a discussion with the Government on this issue, Nicușor Dan explained that there is a working group at the governmental level, of which he is informed.

Petrobrazi Ploiesti refinery of Romanian Oil Company Petrom was subject to a fire on Tuesday morning, which damaged three storage tanks but did not affect the overall operations of the refinery, the company said in a statement.
