Parliament approved on Wednesday the draft law that obliges the National Agency for Environment and Protected Areas to publish the updated list of all economic operators authorized to carry out waste management activities.

Romania hasn’t managed to close all its substandard landfills by Thursday and the European Commission can trigger infringement procedures over defective waste management anytime.

Romania risks infringement procedures by the European Commission this fall because it failed to meet environmental commitments and shut down substandard landfills, Romanian environment minister Nicolae Nemirschi said Tuesday.
