Romanian Democrat Liberals To Submit Five Motions In Parliament

Romania’s Democratic Liberal Party, or PDL, will submit five simple motions in Parliament targeting heating aid, education, infrastructure, healthcare and absorption of EU funds, party leader Emil Boc said Monday.

The first motion will be submitted in the Chamber of Deputies as early as Thursday, unless the government pays local authorities overdue heating aid worth 2,000 billion lei (EUR1=RON3.5204), Boc said.

Boc added the other four motions the party intends to raise in Parliament target education, infrastructure, healthcare and the poor absorption of European funds.

Asked whether the party is intent on a no-confidence vote for the government, Boc said democrat liberals don’t have enough signatures to back such a move.
