Romania Registered Other 50 New Cases Of AH1N1 Infection In The 3-9 August Interval

Romania's National Center for Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases announced other 50 cases of infection with the AH1N1 virus in Romania, in the 3-9 August week.

Most cases were registered in Romania’s capital city Bucharest (20), and the rest were confirmed in Brasov (7), Braila (4), Cluj and Teleorman (3), Dambovita, Iasi, Bacau, Constanta, Sibiu (2), Arges, Hunedoara, Suceava, one case respectively.

Ten cases were confirmed in several children who came back from England (London), eight in other children who returned from Greece, three cases in several tourists who returned from Bulgaria, one case in a patient that came back from Norway and who determined other two secondary cases among the members of his family.

Other cases of infection with swine flu were confirmed in two people who returned from England, in two children who came back from England (Oxford), while two other cases were confirmed among the members of the families of those who were diagnosed with AH1N1 the week before.

Other 20 cases were confirmed in people who came back from England (7), Spain (7), Bulgaria (2), Italy (1), Greece (1), Germany (1) and France (1).

All the 50 patients diagnosed with swine flu are receiving antiviral treatment and their health condition is good.

The total number of patients diagnosed with the AH1N1 virus reached 222 in Romania.
