The plaster fell over a nearby terrace slightly injuring the two. One of them was taken to the neurosurgery hospital for a head injury, while the other was taken to the emergency hospital, after a thorax injury.

Both patients are alright and were more frightened than seriously injured.

Authorities started an investigation to establish the circumstances of the accident. The building in Iasi has been undergoing restoration works for the past 12 years and the interior is nearly done. However, little work has been done on the outside of the building.

"This is the first incident of this sort. We’re waiting for the conclusions of the investigation,” said Adrian Caliman, manager of the building.

Local councilor Catalin Ivan said Caliman is to blame for the incident.

"Authorizing a terrace nearby a degraded building is highly irresponsible of Caliman,” Ivan said.
