US Embassy Attaché Involved In Car Accident In Bucharest

The American Embassy to Bucharest on Wednesday confirmed that one of their attachés was involved in a traffic accident in Bucharest on Tuesday.

The name of the US official is Kevin L. Sandlin, an attaché at the embassy working for a U.S. law enforcement agency, the institution said in a statement.

The embassy regrets the accident and wishes the driver of the other vehicle a speedy recovery, the statement noted.

A car of the US Embassy to Bucharest was involved Tuesday night in a traffic accident in the area of Herastrau Park, in Bucharest’s district 1, as the driver hit a car on the opposite lane.

Eyewitnesses said that the driver of the embassy car sped up into the opposite traffic lane and ended up colliding another vehicle. 

According to the eyewitnesses, the driver responsible for the accident was DUI.

The spokesperson of the Bucharest’s Floreasca Emergency Hospital said that the victim of the car crash suffered bone fracture and will be operated on in the upcoming days. The victim declined to make any comments for the press.
