Erste Bank - first foreign company listed with BSE

An important event took place yesterday for the Romanian capital market, the first listing of an international company. The titles of the Austrian bank Erste Bank debuted at Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE), the third market where they are listed, after the stock exchanges from Vienna and Prague, Mediafax informs. Erste Bank listing has brought several premieres at BSE. It is the first international company to be present in the ring of the Bucharest stock exchange and also the first to benefit from the services or a market maker. More exactly, the market maker must assure a minimum volume of 200 shares corresponding to the purchase or sale offer, over a period of minimum 70 per cent of the duration of a trading session. The maximum variation between the selling and purchasing prices posted by the market maker will be one per cent.

Another premiere for BSE is the method of listing of Erste Bank, namely the “passporting,” an operation which supposes the approval by the authority monitoring the market from the country of origin of the issuer, Austria, in Erste case of a document that would be accepted by the authority of another state member as support for a public offer or for the admission of the titles to trading.
