The two representatives of the Magyar community, The Democratic Union of the Magyars from Romania (UDMR) and the recently established Magyar Civic Party (PCM), celebrated separately this event. While the leader of the Union, Marko Bela, chose Targu Mures as the place where the events were held, PCM president, Szasz Jeno, preferred the city of Odorheiu Secuiesc, whose mayor he is.
