The trial in which former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu, Horațiu Potra and 20 other defendants are accused of actions against the constitutional order begins on Wednesday, September 9, at the Bucharest Court of Appeal. The first term of the trial on the merits is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Prosecutors claim that Georgescu and Potra discussed, immediately after the cancellation of the 2024 presidential elections, a plan by which people with military training were to divert the protests in Bucharest into violent actions.
