BNR: Household deposits in lei fell in August; foreign currency savings rose

Household deposits in lei fell by 0.4% in August compared to the previous month, while foreign currency savings increased, according to data published Wednesday by the National Bank of Romania (BNR). Meanwhile, foreign currency lending rose by 17% compared to August 2025.
