Romanians will enjoy a three day break at the start of winter because the 2025 National Day falls on a Monday, followed by another four day holiday period at the end of December tied to the winter celebrations.

Romanian deputies decided Wednesday to declare August 15, when Romanian Orthodox Christians celebrate the Dormition of Virgin Mary, a legal holiday, accepting President Traian Basescu’s Labor Code reexamination request.
