„I am against the minimum tax because I believe its effects are nil. I have guarantees from the Finance Ministry that it will be canceled as of January 1 2011,” Videanu said.

He said Romania shouldn’t increase any taxes or duties, because such a measure would hinder consumption and, thus, the economic growth.

Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu said Wednesday that the ministry will analyze the possibility to expand the general taxation pool.
