“Christmas pig-killing will observe animal welfare regulations. To identify the best solution in that respect, ANSVA officials held a series of talks with representatives of Romanian Veterinarians College. Following these talks, we decided that designated veterinarians are to apply stunning procedure for hogs,” the statement noted.

Romanian veterinarians will follow special training courses to use guns firing captive bolts, the authority said.
