The state secretary said the measure aims to encourage mothers to go back to work sooner.

Nedelcu added the draft normative act states that mothers who decide to go back to work sooner could get 30% of the wage received for child rearing, but no less than 600 lei (EUR1=RON4.2348).

Under the law on day care services, mothers choosing to return to work sooner may use the services of a baby-sitter. The state secretary added another possibility considered is paying grandparents to babysit, but she didn’t say who exactly would pay them.

Nedelcu also said the ministry started working on a draft law granting child-rearing indemnities for triplets.
