Romania’s First Polling Station Abroad Closed At GMT 0800

Romanians in Wellington were the first to cast their votes in Romania’s parliamentary election and a 35-year-old man was the first Romanian to cast a vote, Saturday evening, for Romania’s future lawmakers.
 
The next polling stations abroad to open are in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne, Australia, at GMT 2000.
 
The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release issued at GMT 0500 that Romanian citizens had already started voting in 39 polling stations abroad by the time polls opened in the country.
 
Along with polling stations in Romania, another 32 stations open in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
 
The Ministry also said no incidents were recording during the election process abroad so far.
